Congratulations to our Daisy Award Winner - Susan Kinard

We are thrilled to announce that Susan Kinard has been honored with the prestigious DAISY Award for her exceptional care and dedication to our patients. The DAISY Award is a national recognition that celebrates nurses who demonstrate extraordinary compassion, skill, and commitment to providing the highest quality of care. What makes this award even more special is that Susan was nominated by our patients, who shared heartfelt stories of the difference she has made in their lives.

What is the Daisy Award?

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.

Why Susan?

Susan’s nomination speaks volumes about her incredible ability to connect with patients on a personal level. According to the nominations, Susan’s care is marked not only by her clinical expertise but also by her genuine compassion, patience, and kindness. A statement from a patient who nominated Susan stated: "Her quick response and actions literally saved me. I can never thank her enough. She is my true guardian angel."

Join us in congratulating Susan!

We are incredibly proud to have Susan as part of our team, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to her for receiving this distinguished honor. Thank you, Susan, for all that you do. You are a true embodiment of the values we hold dear in healthcare—compassion, excellence, and dedication.
