Newberry Health has been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the hospitals in the nation to receive a 5-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Notably, Newberry Health was one of only two hospitals in South Carolina to earn this distinction.
The recognition is based on data from the CMS Patient Survey (HCAHPS)-Hospital database, a national standardized survey that measures patients’ perspectives of their inpatient hospital experience. The CMS cleanliness rating is determined through patient responses to survey questions regarding how often their hospital room and bathroom were kept clean during their stay.
Nationwide, only 396 hospitals achieved a 5-star cleanliness rating highlighting Newberry Health’s continued commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for patients and visitors.
“This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire Environmental Services team and our Environmental Services Director, Felipe Slider,” said John Snow, Chief Executive Officer of Newberry Health. “Cleanliness and patient safety are essential to the patient experience, and we are proud that our patients continue to recognize the efforts our staff puts forth every day. Being one of only two hospitals in South Carolina to receive this honor is a tremendous accomplishment for our organization.”
Newberry Health remains committed to delivering exceptional care and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction for the communities it serves.
